We are pleased to present our new publication on SARS-CoV-2 RNA reference material. At the beginning of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the first publications showed that the Ct values of the different tests varied considerably. In order to standardize the Ct values, INSTAND, in close cooperation with our virological experts, the Robert Koch Institute and the Nationales Konsiliarlabor für Coronaviren, Institut für Virologie am Charité, developed two well-characterized reference materials with a SARS-CoV-2 RNA viral load in the threshold range of infectivity and made them available to interested laboratories. Our publication shows a gene- and test-specific analysis of the numerous test results from the participating laboratories.
